R+P Post 11: Artist Websites That Have Inspired and Influenced my Ideas

An artists website is extremely important as it serves as the main hub of information with links to the artists other social media, videos, photos and opportunities for fans to buy things while being synergistic with the artists album cover and image. After looking at a few websites I discovered there is conventions that most websites include which can be seen in the navigation bar from the AlunaGeorge Website:

• news
• tour dates
• the artists music
• videos
• photos
• store- merchandise and tour tickets
• links to social media
• opportunity to sign up to a newsletter or fan club
• institutional information

Rihanna's Website:

We researched into Rihanna's website as her image as an artist is similar to the image we want to create for our artist in terms of trendy clothes and interests. The website conveys her current and cool image through lots of photos of her and her interests as soon as you enter on the home page. 

We also liked how the website is extremely easy to navigate with the navigation bar down the side and a clear synergistic look across all the pages.

Chance the Rapper's Website:

I particularly liked this website due to the synergistic bold color scheme of the pink and white which is carried over from the album cover to the website. I think this created a recognizable brand for the audience to identify with and would like to include this in our website.

Little Mix Website:

Although Little Mix as an artist have a very different image and genre of music to our artist, I found their website to be very interactive and enjoyable to navigate, particularly the news page (seen on the left). This page includes interactive quizzes for the target audience to take part in which I think would be extremely successful in engaging and appealing to the target audience by making the website fun. This has inspired us to include some interactivity in our website such as a game or quiz to engage our target audience.
